Direct answer
If your Google Ads conversion tracking is wrong, Google learns from bad data and your bids get worse. Wetracked.io helps by sending cleaner Shopify purchase data back to Google Ads. Create four conversions in Google Ads, copy the conversion ID and labels into Wetracked, then set Purchase as primary and the rest as secondary.
If you only do one thing
Make Purchase your primary goal. Keep everything else secondary.
In 60 seconds (fast start)
- Add your Shopify store in Wetracked and match the time zone to Google Ads.
- Create the Purchase conversion in Google Ads and copy the conversion ID + label.
- Paste them into Wetracked and keep enhanced conversions on.
Quick steps (copy-ready)
- Create a Wetracked.io account and add your Shopify store.
- Pick native checkout and set the right time zone.
- In Google Ads, create conversions for Purchase, Add to cart, Begin checkout, Page view.
- Choose manual code and copy the conversion ID plus each conversion label.
- Paste the ID and labels into Wetracked for each event.
- Keep enhanced conversions on.
- Set Purchase as primary. Set the other events as secondary.
- Test and give it time to show as active.
Common mistakes (avoid these)
- Making “Add to cart” a primary goal. Google will chase carts, not profit.
- Using the wrong time zone in Wetracked.
- Pasting the wrong conversion label into the wrong event.
- Expecting “Active” instantly. It needs real events first.
- Turning off enhanced conversions.

Why Google Ads conversion tracking matters
Google Ads optimizes for the conversion you tell it to chase.
If your tracking is wrong, you often see:
- Spend goes up.
- ROAS drops.
- You are guessing what works.
Wetracked.io helps by sending cleaner Shopify conversion data back into Google Ads.
Experience-based: In our work, cleaner conversion data often reduces wasted spend over time because Google learns from better signals.

Step 3. Copy the conversion ID and labels
After you create conversions, Google Ads shows:
- Conversion ID
- Conversion label (one per conversion)
You need:
- 1 conversion ID
- 4 labels (Purchase, ATC, Begin checkout, Page view)
Step 4. Paste the conversion ID and labels into Wetracked
Back in Wetracked:
- Toggle Google Ads on.
- Click Add pixel.
- Paste your conversion ID.
- Paste each conversion label into the matching event:
- Purchase label → Purchase
- Add to cart label → Add to cart
- Begin checkout label → Begin checkout
- Page view label → Page view
- Save.
Experience-based: The first time, Wetracked may request access to your Shopify store. It can take a short time before everything is fully connected.
Step 5. Keep enhanced conversions on (exact script step)
In Google Ads, keep enhanced conversions enabled.
Script-aligned path:
- Go to Goals
- Go to Settings
- Find Enhanced conversions
- Make sure it is on
Experience-based: Enhanced conversions often help when browser tracking is limited.
Step 6. Set primary vs secondary conversion goals (most important)
If you sell products, you usually want Google Ads to optimize for purchases.
Do this:
- Purchase = Primary (account default)
- Add to cart = Secondary
- Begin checkout = Secondary
- Page view = Secondary
Why:
- Primary goals steer bidding.
- Secondary goals still measure data, but do not control optimization.
