Quick Answer. How Can You Speed Up Product Approval?

Answer: Google says a Shopping ads product review may take three to five business days. If your products remain under review after five complete working days, open Merchant Center support, choose the pending-products issue, and send one complete request. Include your Merchant Center ID, data source details, target countries, and a screenshot of the pending status.

Keep expectations clear: Contacting support may help you get a status update. It does not force Google to approve your products.

Google Merchant Center Product Approval Checklist

Use this order when your products appear as under review.

  1. Wait five complete working days.
  2. Confirm that your website and product pages open.
  3. Check that your business, shipping, and return information is present.
  4. Confirm that the correct product data source is active.
  5. Collect your Merchant Center ID and account details.
  6. Take a screenshot of the products under review.
  7. Open Help, then Help Center and support.
  8. Select Contact us.
  9. Search for products in review.
  10. Select the pending-products option.
  11. Complete the email or chat support form.
  12. Paste the support template into the issue summary.
  13. Submit one complete request and monitor the same case.

Do not keep changing your feed without a reason. Google says extra website or product data changes may delay an initial review.

How Long Does Google Merchant Center Product Review Take?

Your next action depends on the status shown in Merchant Center.

Under review

Google uses the under-review status while it checks a product for issues. Google states that Shopping ads reviews may take three to five business days. Reviews for other features, such as free listings, may take longer.

View Google’s product status guidance.

Processing

Processing means Google is working on a recent product update. Google says this normally takes up to 15 minutes. Wait for processing to finish before treating the item as stuck in a full review.

Approved

Approved means Google has completed the review. The product is eligible to show through the available Google programs.

Not approved

Not approved means Google found a problem. This is different from a product that is still waiting for its initial review.

Open the product details or the Needs attention section. Fix the stated issue before you request another review.

Do Not Confuse an Initial Review With a Policy Appeal

The video process is for products that remain under review. It is not the same process as fixing a product disapproval or suspended Merchant Center account.

Initial product review

An initial review often happens when you add products to a new Merchant Center account for the first time.

Google checks your products, website, business details, and account setup. Your products may remain pending until this check is complete.

Product disapproval

A product disapproval affects one or more products. Google normally shows a reason in the product details. Fix that reason instead of using the pending-review template as a replacement.

Account suspension

An account suspension can stop all products from appearing. Follow the account-level issue and review process shown inside Merchant Center.

Policy review cooldown

A policy review may take up to seven business days. Google may also disable the review button during a cooldown after unsuccessful review attempts.

Google states that support cannot bypass or shorten an active cooldown.

Read Google’s policy review guidance.

Complete These Checks Before Contacting Google

The video focuses on the support form. The checks below are supporting checks. They help you find an obvious problem before you send the request.

Store accessibility

Open your store in a private browser window. Check that:

  • The homepage opens.
  • Product pages open.
  • Product images load.
  • Prices and stock are visible.
  • The cart works.
  • Checkout opens.
  • There is no test text or unfinished content.

Use this guide when Google cannot access a product page: how to fix Product Page Unavailable in Google Merchant Center.

Business information

Compare the information in Merchant Center with the information on your website:

  • Business or store name
  • Website URL
  • Customer support email
  • Phone number, when used
  • Business address

Use real information. Do not add fake details simply to complete the account.

Shipping and returns

Make sure a customer can find:

  • Where you ship
  • Expected delivery times
  • Shipping charges
  • The return period
  • How to request a return
  • How refunds and return costs work

Product data source

Open the data source area and confirm that:

  • The expected data source is present.
  • The source contains products.
  • The latest update did not fail.
  • The correct target countries are selected.
  • Product information matches the website.

For a Shopify product setup walkthrough, read how to add Shopify products to Google Merchant Center with Multifeeds.

Collect the Information Google Support May Need

Prepare these details before you open the support form. This makes the request faster to complete.

Merchant Center account ID

Copy your Merchant Center account ID. In the video account, the ID appears in the top-right corner of Merchant Center.

Data source information

Write down:

  • The data source name
  • The submission method
  • The latest update date
  • The number of submitted products
  • The number of products under review

Target countries

List the countries selected for the data source. Only include countries that are truly part of the current setup.

Review start date

Record when the products entered review. Count five complete working days from that date before using the delayed-review support request.

How to Contact Google About Products Under Review

Interface note: The button names and order may change. The steps below match the support flow shown in the video. Select the closest matching option when your account uses different wording.

Step 1. Open Help

Sign in to the affected Merchant Center account.

  1. Open Help.
  2. Select Help Center and support.
  3. Scroll to the bottom of the support area.

Visual recommendation: Help and Help Center and support menu.

Alt text: Opening Google Merchant Center support to speed up product approval.

Step 2. Select Contact us

Select Contact us. Google’s Merchant Center Help Center also shows a Contact us option under its additional support choices.

Open Google Merchant Center Help.

Step 3. Select the Google Ads account

The support form shown in the video asks you to select a Google Ads account.

If no account appears, you may need to create or connect a Google Ads account using the same Google login. This helps you continue through the support flow shown in the video.

Do not confuse the two steps: Creating or linking a Google Ads account does not approve your products. Google requires a linked Google Ads account before you can create Shopping campaigns.

Step 4. Search for the correct issue

  1. Enter products in review.
  2. Select Next.
  3. Choose Pending products in review.
  4. Select Next step.
  5. Continue to the contact options.

Visual recommendation: Pending products in review issue selection.

Alt text: Selecting pending products in review in Google Merchant Center support.

Step 5. Choose a contact method

Choose chat when it is available. Otherwise, choose email.

Experience-based: In the video example, chat is expected mainly for a Google Ads account with active spend. The contact methods shown in your account may differ.

Email is often the safer choice. You keep a written record, you do not miss a call, and you can reply with extra details in the same conversation.

Step 6. Complete the contact form

Complete each field shown in the form:

  • Your name: Enter the name of the person sending the request.
  • Contact email: Use an inbox you check often.
  • Merchant Center login email: Enter the email connected to the account.
  • Website URL: Enter the full store URL.
  • Data feed name: Copy the name shown under Data sources.
  • Submission method: Select the option that best matches your setup.
  • Target countries: Select the countries used by the data source.
  • Issue summary: Paste the product review support template.

Video example: The example data source uses Content API. The closest submission choice selected in the form is Scheduling. Check your own setup and select the closest correct choice shown to you.

Step 7. Select email for the reply

Choose email as the preferred reply method when that option is available. You can then answer follow-up questions without opening a new case.

Copy-and-Paste Product Review Support Template

Use the downloadable document when your products have remained under review for more than five complete working days.

Subject

Use a clear subject that explains that your Merchant Center products remain under review.

Account details

The request should include:

  • Merchant Center account ID
  • Store name
  • Website URL
  • Login email
  • Data source name
  • Submission method
  • Target countries
  • Review start date
  • Number of affected products

Completed checks

Briefly explain that the website is open, the data source is active, and the account details have been checked.

Requested action

Ask Google to confirm the review status and tell you whether any action is still needed. Do not demand immediate approval.

Open the template, make a copy, and replace each placeholder with your own Merchant Center information.

What Screenshot Should You Attach?

One or two clear screenshots are better than a large group of unrelated images.

Product status

Show the page where the affected products appear as under review or pending.

Merchant Center account ID

Include the account ID in the screenshot when possible. Also enter the ID in the template and support form.

Common Mistakes That Can Delay the Process

Contacting Google too early

A Shopping ads review can still be within the normal period during the first three to five business days. Wait five complete working days unless Merchant Center shows a clear error.

Changing the feed repeatedly

Do not make random feed or website changes simply to restart the review. Google says additional changes may delay the initial review.

Choosing the wrong support issue

Choose the pending-products option for products that remain under review. Do not choose suspension or policy appeal options unless those issues are shown in the account.

Opening multiple cases

Experience-based: Several cases can split your screenshots, answers, and account details across separate conversations. Send one complete request and keep your replies in the same case.

Expecting guaranteed approval

Support may check the status or tell you what to fix. It cannot promise that your products will be approved.

What to Do After You Submit the Request

Monitor the case

Check the inbox used in the support form. Also check your spam folder and Merchant Center notifications.

Reply in the same thread

When Google asks for more information, reply in the same email conversation. Add all requested details in one clear message.

Follow issue-specific instructions

Google may find that your case is not a normal pending review. Follow the instructions that match the status shown in your account.

IF your products become approved, THEN check that the correct products and countries are eligible.

IF the status changes to Not approved, THEN open the product issue and fix the stated cause.

IF the account becomes suspended, THEN stop using the pending-review template and follow the account review process.

IF the review button is greyed out, THEN check whether a policy cooldown is active.

IF Google asks for a screenshot or document, THEN reply in the same case with the requested proof.

IF the case remains open without a reply, THEN send a short follow-up in the same thread instead of opening several new cases.

What to Do After Your Products Are Approved

Verify product eligibility

Check that the products you plan to advertise show as approved in the correct target country.

Check conversion tracking

Test your purchase tracking before you spend money. You need clear sales data before you can judge campaign performance.

Link Google Ads

Google states that Merchant Center and Google Ads must be linked before you can create Shopping campaigns that use your product information.

Read Google’s account linking instructions.

For a wider setup walkthrough, read how to set up a Google Merchant Center account.

Launch safely

Before starting the campaign, decide:

  • Which products you will advertise
  • Which country you will target
  • How much you can spend each day
  • Which conversion action you will measure
  • When you will check the first results
  • Which result would make you pause or continue

Frequently Asked Questions

How long can Merchant Center products stay under review?

Google says Shopping ads product reviews may take three to five business days. Reviews for other features may take longer.

Can Google support approve my products immediately?

No. Support may check the status or tell you what action is needed. Immediate approval is not guaranteed.

Should I change my product feed while it is under review?

Only change the feed when you find a real error. Google says extra changes may delay the initial review.

What if only one product is under review?

Open that product’s details. Check whether it is under review, processing, waiting for an image crawl, or affected by a specific issue.

What if my products are not approved?

Open the Needs attention section and fix the stated product issue. Do not use the pending-review template as a replacement for fixing a disapproval.

What if my Merchant Center account is suspended?

Follow the account-level issue and policy review process. A suspended account is different from products waiting for their initial approval.

Can I contact support before five working days?

You can use the support options available in your account. However, the review may still be within Google’s normal Shopping ads review window during the first five business days.

Do I need a linked Google Ads account?

The support flow shown in the video asks you to select a Google Ads account. Separately, Google requires Merchant Center and Google Ads to be linked before you can create a Shopping campaign using your product data.

Final Takeaway

Wait five complete working days. Then check your website, account details, and product data source before contacting Google.

Follow the support flow shown in the video. Add every requested account detail. Paste the template into the issue summary and attach one clear screenshot.

The goal is not to pressure Google. The goal is to send one complete request that makes your situation easy to understand.
